We are currently working on a Windows app, but, in the mean time we just got added to Station, which is a native Windows app that has WeDo pre-installed :) You can check that out here: https://getstation.com and add WeDo as a service once downloaded!

I see this has been planned for around a year now. It would be awesome to get some updates on the Windows App. It makes my workflow suffer a bit using the web based app.

Absolutely. I'm not even a Windows user, but some of the people I need to work with are. WatchOS in the future would be cool, too, if it's useful. ^_^
